Overview

[68Ga]Ga-DOTA-STR-17126 is a gallium-68 labeled radiopharmaceutical designed for positron emission tomography (PET) imaging of tumors expressing the gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR). It consists of a GRPR-targeting peptide (STR-17126) conjugated to the chelator DOTA, which complexates the radioisotope gallium-68. GRPR is frequently overexpressed in various cancers, including prostate and breast cancer, making it a valuable target for molecular imaging. This agent is part of a theranostic pair, where its lutetium-177 labeled counterpart, [177Lu]Lu-DOTA-STR-17126, is used for targeted radionuclide therapy and dosimetry. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 0 clinical trials by the Integrated Haematology and Oncology Network in Australia for the detection and management of advanced or metastatic cancers.
